A 23-year-old crew member got electrocuted during a shoot at a Malad-based studio on Tuesday. The deceased’s uncle, who is the contractor, was booked on charges of negligence.
The incident took place at Pragati studio in Malad. Around 10.30 am, Pradeep Yadav collapsed while handling the lights in the studio while a commercial was being shot. Yadav was rushed to the hospital at 11.30 am, where he was declared dead.
After recording statements of witnesses, a case of ‘causing death due to negligence’ was registered against the contractor. The accused will be arrested once Yadav’s last rites are completed.
The police will also record the statement of the director of the commercial to understand the exact sequence of events.
