Drunk foreign national falls on railway tracks at Mumbai Central

A foreign national, who was reportedly in an inebriated state, fell on to the tracks at Mumbai Central station on Monday night.Commuters alerted the Railway Police Force (RPF), who took the assistance of a home guard to lift the man to safety on to platform number 2. The incident took place around 11.20pm.

RPF personnel said that the foreigner could not speak coherently. They informed the Government Railway Police (GRP), who took him to their outpost. On being questioned, the man said that he was from South Korea and wanted to reach the international airport to board a flight to Hong Kong. After checking his passport and ticket, the GRP officials helped him get into an Andheri-bound train and gave him directions to reach the airport. His belongings were not robbed, contrary to a few reports, a GRP official said.
