Navy Day spl air show for challenged kids

The 44th Navy day celebration in the country will be observed on December 4. This annual celebration marks the achievements and role of the naval force towards the country.

In the run-up to the Navy Day celebrations, a slew of events have been lined up lined up for the public, including an air show for differently abled children on Monday at INS Shikara, visits to ships for schoolchildren on the same day at Tiger Gate, Naval Dockyard, Open Sea Swimming Competition on Tuesday at INWTC, Colaba, Beating The Retreat and a tattoo ceremony between December 2 and 4 at Gateway of India.

The day marks the daredevil attack on Pakistan’s naval base at Karachi. The Western Naval Command in Mumbai brings its ships and sailors. “This commemorates the courageous attack on Karachi harbour during the Indo-Pak war on December 4, 1971, and reveres martyrs of that war,” said a defence official.
