A 33-year-old rape survivor has accused some female constables at Juhu police station of manhandling and dragging her into the police station at the behest of the accused in her case. She has submitted footage from the police station’s closed circuit cameras, procured through an RTI query, to the Bombay high court, which told her to file a separate case against the cops.
The executive with a south Mumbai private firm was called to the police station on July 27 for investigating a complaint she had filed against Nitin Gupta for sexual assault and unnatural sex last year. She was waiting outside the police station to be called in, while the accused, a resident of the western suburbs who is employed at a private firm, had reported at the station to sign the register every second and fourth Saturday, as ordered by the court.
