51-yr-old dies as his car rams into flyover railing

A 51-year-old man died after ramming his car into the railing of a flyover at Dahisar (W) around 9.30pm on Friday. The deceased, Pramod Kumar Agarwal, was driving at breakneck speed, said the police.

The Charkop resident was driving from the eastern side of Dahisar to the west. He lost control of the car and rammed it into the fencing of the flyover that further leads towards Kandivli, before crashing into another vehicle ahead.

Agarwal, who sustained serious injuries, was pronounced dead at a public hospital.

“We have kept his blood samples. An analysis will reveal if he was drunk,” said senior inspector Subhash Chavan of MHB Colony police station. A case of rash driving and negligence has been registered.

In another mishap, a private bus driver was grievously hurt when a tempo collided with his vehicle on Western Express Highway at Goregaon around 11.45pm on Friday. The tempo driver was later arrested.

“The bus driver, Mohammad Javed Khan, sustained fractures,” said senior inspector Chandrakant Gurav of Vanrai police station where a case of rash driving has been registered. TNN
