The man, who garnered support for constructing a memorial to Dr B R Ambedkar at Indu Mill, has not been invited to the ‘bhumipujan’ of the same on Sunday.
The foundation-laying function will be presided over by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and will be attended by chief minister Devendra Fadnavis and other dignitaries.
In 2003, Chandrakant Bhandare (62), a retired government employee, wrote letters to the then Prime Minister A B Vajpayeeand 250 other dignitaries and raised the demand for the memorial. “I am not expecting anything from the government but at least my efforts should be acknowledged. I want the memorial to be built as soon as possible,”
