BJP MP Kirit Somaiya, along with his fellow party members, staged a morcha outside the Parksite police station in Vikhroli, accusing a police sub-inspector of assaulting a BJP activist who went to inquire about a person arrested for child molestation.
Somaiya said, “A local BJP worker, Dilip Matkar went to Parksite police station for some work when sub-inspector Vikas Raut misbehaved with him and slapped him. Earlier too there were complaints of misuse of power by the police, hence I met the DCP and sought an inquiry.” DCP (zone 7) Vinay Rathod assured Somaiya of a departmental inquiry into the episode. Last year, Somaiya had been accused of slapping an inspector from Mulund police station. The inquiry is still pending.
