A 32-year-old man died after the bike he was riding skidded on JJ flyover around 10.30pm on Friday. The deceased, Swami Shekhar, sustained severe injuries to the head, said the police.
Shekhar, a resident of Sion Koliwada, was returning home after having attended the immersion procession of the Ganesh idol at his friend’s home in Cuffe Parade. It was raining at that time, and this caused his bike to skid near the Nagpada-end of the bridge, said the police. Doctors at JJ Hospital declared him dead.
Bikers are banned from using the JJ flyover.
