MUMBAI: A 55-year-old woman fell off the balcony of her fifth-floor flat at Malabar Hill while watering plants on Saturday. The deceased, Vijayshri Shistala, was declared ‘brought dead’ at JJ Hospital, Byculla.
An officer from Malabar Hill police station said that Shistala landed in the building compound. “The family has not raised suspicion of any foul play. The balcony windows did not have any grille, and she could have lost her balance and slipped,” said the police officer.
Shistala was a resident of Vasant Vihar building, also known as RBI officers quarters. Her huband, Prabhakarn, works for the RBI. They have a son and daughter. The body was handed over to the family after a post-mortem. A case of accidental death has been registered.
