KHARGONE: The Mumbai ATS on Tuesday arrested a techie in Khargone, Madhya Pradesh, on suspicion of his association with a terror outfit.
Awesh Sheikh (26), an MTech, was picked up in Talai Mohalla and was being brought to Mumbai, said sources.
Sheikh’s mobile and laptop were seized. The police said he was linked to a social media group with “suspicious people”. NIA is investigating a case registered against Awesh in the Nagpada police station in December. “The case was registered in Mumbai. We just helped in the investigation,” Khargone SP D Kalyan Chakrawarthy said.
