MUMBAI: Thousands of commuters who reside between Jogeshwari and Goregaonstations can finally heave a sigh of relief as Union railway minister Suresh Prabhu will inaugurate the Ram Mandir station in Oshiwara on Thursday .
It is a hard won battle for the commuters who have been shelling out for autos and buses to reach the nearest station–Goregaon or Jogeshwari–to catch trains and also to go to the commercial hubs in Oshiwara. Ram Mandir station, which has been built at a cost of Rs 32 crore, will also de-congest traffic by providing direct connectivity to the hubs.
Uttar Pradesh governor Ram Naik told TOI on Wednesday: “I was keen on attending the inauguration. But since the Prime Minister will be in UP on Thursday ,I have to be here (in UP) as a protocol. I am happy that the Ram Mandir station will benefit scores of commuters.”
