Residents here showed a black flag to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Wednesday during his visit for opening of a new flyover. The act, they said, was prompted by the bad condition of roads in the city.
“We showed black flag so that CM can learn about the situation of roads here,” said one of protestor. They claimed that officials, in their attempt to mask the real conditions of the roads, had taken the CM’s convoy through the Kalyan-Bhiwandi road, which is the only good road in city.
On Wednesday, Fadnavis inaugurated the 785m long Vanjarpatti flyover in Bhiwandi, which will help cut travel time between Thane and Wada in Palghar district. He also conducted the bhoomipujan for a 3-km flyover from Rajiv Gandhi Chowk to Saibaba Mandir.
