The city’s weather bureau has issued a warning of rough sea and strong, gusty winds. A port warning has also been issued across the Maharashtra and Goa coastline.Weathermen said that a weather system over the Arabian Sea might cause strong winds of up to 45-50kmph and even touch 60kmph.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Mumbai forecast light rain or thundershowers on Saturday. “There is a depression over east- central Arabian Sea moving northwards. It would move north-north-westwards and intensify into a deep depression,” said the IMD website. Fishermen have been warned not to venture into the sea for the next 24 hours.
