Congress city president Sanjay Nirupam will take a delegation to state governor Vidyasagar Rao on Tuesday, to hand him list of over one lakh signatures from citizens and demand CAG audit of all power utility companies in Maharashtra.
“I will also urge him to intervene and take up the matter with MERC for reduction in electricity tariff for the common man,” he stated.
Nirupam had conducted a week long drive to collect signatures from citizens in various wards across the city. “Citizens are fed by the inflated electricity bills and hefty tariff of power utility firms. We want to take up the issue in a big way and demand power tariff reduction on behalf of Mumbaikars,” he stated.
The AAP had also launched a campaign recently demanding third party audit of power utility firms.
