Unidentified thieves allegedly broke into the Bank of Baroda branch in Nalasopara (west) early Wednesday. Their attempts to break the bank locker was unsuccessful, said the police.
The thieves gained entry into the bank, located on the ground floor, through the rear window. The Nalasopara police said that the thieves tampered with the window grills and gained entry.
Preliminary investigation suggests that the thieves tried to break the bank lockers but were unsuccessful. The security guard was holding fort on the front side of the bank.
Police suspect that a modem of a computer could have been taken away by the thieves. The closed circuit television (CCTV) could have captured the images of the thieves.
