Long distance trains to Mumbai delayed

Due to engine failure of Punjab Mail near Khardi station early morning, all long distance trains arriving in Mumbai have been delayed.

A CR spokesperson, however, said that no train services have been cancelled. “We sent an alternate engine of a goods train from Atgaon to the site. The Punjab Mail has reached Mumbai and services restored. There could be slight delays in arrivals of long distance trains to the city due to the loco failure.”

Meanwhile, as a fallout of the derailment incident of the Secunderabad-LTT Duronto Express on Saturday, some of the long distance trains have been rescheduled today. They include the CST-Bhubaneshwar Konark Express which was scheduled to depart at 3.10pm today, but will now leave at 4.40pm. Similarly, the CST-Chennai Central Express will depart at 11.45pm instead of 2pm today.

The CST-Kanyakumari Express scheduled to depart at 3.45pm today will now leave at 12.30am on Monday.
