NAVI MUMBAI: Panic spread among students and teaching staff at a college in Kharghar after a 19-year-old girl, who was appearing for her FY B Com exam locked herself inside the washroom for more than 12 hours since Wednesday. Policetraced her only on Thursday morning.
“The girl locked herself in the washroom after a spat with two of her classmates over posting objectionable comments on a social networking website,” said Govind Arlekar, assistant inspector of Kharghar police station.
The girl’s parents got alarmed after she did not return home till late evening on Wednesday even after her exam got over at 3pm. “Her father went to the college, but the security guard did not allow him inside as it was closed for the day. Hence, he came to Kharghar police station and lodged a missing person’s complaint,” Arlekar added.
The police also found a message ‘the girl will never be traced’ scrawled on the washroom’s wall.
