MUMBAI: A 32-year office boy of a law firm, who allegedly stole from advocates’ bags in the Bombay high court, was nabbed by Azad Maidanpolice on Monday. The accused, Prakash Jhade, is a resident of Wagle Estate in Thane and there are five offence of theftagainst him.
According to the police, advocate Swapna Tejale had lodged a complaint on January 27 alleging that she kept her bag inside the ladies court bar room and went for a hearing. And when she returned she found that zip of her bag was open and her purse, identity card, Aadhaar card, PAN card and cash Rs 800 were missing. “We registered a theft case. It was fifth complaint of theft from the high court’s premises. We went through the footage of the CCTV camera, which is installed outside the ladies bar room, and saw Jhade entering the room,” said a senior police officer.
