Ganesh mandal to conduct mock interviews for UPSC exam aspirants

MUMBAI: It is commonly observed that few Maharashtrians consider a career in the civil services. In a small step towards increasing their numbers, the Lalbaugcha Raja Ganeshotsav mandal will conduct mock interviews for UPSC exam aspirants on March 4-5. They will be examined by panel of eminent judges.

The actual interviews begin at the UPSC headquarters in New Delhi March 20.

The library of the Lalbaugcha Raja library is being revamped for the mock exercise. “Ours will be very similar to the original interview, right down to the formal setting of the room, furniture and stationery. We have invited serving income tax commissioners, revenue officials, Customs representatives, journalists and police officers. It will be a mock interview not a false one.,” said Balasaheb Kamble of the mandal. Each candidate will be given approximately 40 minutes. For that reason only 20 interviews can be conducted in a single day, around 40-45 over the two day span. Aspirants will have access to the Lalbaugcha Raja’s airconditioned library which has a selection of books on civil services.
