Days after chief minister Devendra Fadnavisgot Prime Minister Narendra Modi to lay the foundation stone of the mid-sea Shivaji memorial, he addressed his first rally against the backdrop of the forthcoming BMC polls at Ghatkopar on Wednesday.Though there is no clarity on the fate of the alliance between Shiv Sena and BJP in the civic election, Fadnavis raked up the issue of corruption in the Sena- controlled BMC. “This area has always been supportive towards BJP. I want to tell you that BJP will work towards making BMC free of corruption,” said the CM, after inaugurating eight civic projects for Ghatkopar.
Fadnavis promised locals 10 lakh affordable homes in the next few years and said that roads would be repaired without affecting the area layout
Emphasizing that BJP has development as its priority and to showcase this had got Modi to launch projects worth Rs 1.06 lakh crore in just one day, Fadnavis added, “We have brought the Metro to Ghatkopar and launched several transport projects. We want development to take precedence over everything in this city.”
This is the second public meeting Fadnavis has held in Ghatkopar in the last one year
