Athletes competing in shooting, archery, weightlifting and judo, as well as the women’s hockey team and tennis mixed doubles team will feature for India at the Rio Olympics on Wednesday.
After missing out in the 10m air pistol, Jitu Rai will look to make amends in the 50m air pistol, considered his pet event. Prakash Nanjappa will also compete in the 50m. Archers Laishram Bombayla Devi, Deepika Kumari and Laxmirani Majhi will compete in the women’s individual round of 64.
Sathish Sivalingam will compete in the men’s 77kg weightlifting Group B final while Judoka Avtar Singh will look to book his place in the men’s 90kg round of 16. The women’s hockey team will take on Australia while Sania Mirza and Rohan Bopanna will begin their campaign against Australia’s Samantha Stosur and John Peers.

5.55 PM (IST): Jitu Rai in 14th place, with a total of 91 in series 1, series 2 underway. Prakash Nanjappa in 38th, with an unimpressive total of 82 in series 1.
5.45 PM (IST): Jitu Rai currently in 13th place, with a score of 55 in series 1. Prakash Nanjappa is last in 41st place, with a score of 31.
