Waikar said he has given a 15-day ultimatum to Nirupam to tender an unconditional apology for making baseless and false allegations for face civil and criminal defamation proceedings.
Waikar, a trusted aide of Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray, claimed that there were absolutely no illegalities in the constructions made by him in his Jogeshwari assembly constituency. “I financed building of some structures from the local area development fund, which is at a legislator’s disposal. I have secured permission from the competent authorities. I have submitted by plea to the Lokayukta too after I received a notice from his office,” Waikar said.
