Bihar road rage case: Rocky Yadav’s dad was almost a pauper 6 years ago

Gaya: Rocky , who killed a 19-year-old youth for overtaking his Range Rover car on May 7 night, may flaunt a high-end car, Beretta pistol, stylish life in Vasant Kunj etc. But, if election affidavit of his fatherBindeshwari Prasad Yadav alias Bindi Yadav is to be believed, the alleged road rage killer was almost a pauper in October 2010.

Rocky, as per the affidavit, had just Rs 5,000 in cash. His two siblings were equally poor, with just Rs 5,000 and Rs 2,000 in cash. Rocky did not have any bank account or property in his name. How a virtual pauper or at best an unemployed youth could flaunt all these high-end items is a matter of investigation.ocky’s mother Manorama Devi, as per her husband’s affidavit, had Rs 15,000 cash in 2010. Her own affidavit, filed during the legislative council poll in June 2015, stated that she had Rs 30 lakh in cash. Manorama has given politics and agriculture as her profession. As per the affidavit, Rocky’s parents purchased more than six acres of non-agricultural land in Bodh Gaya in 2010-11. The market value of this land comes to over Rs 100 crore.

The intriguing part of it is that as per the affidavits, Rocky’s parents were students till 1995. All the property is self-acquired, as they did not inherit anything. Manorama also purchased 55 decimals of prime land near Gaya railway station on January 1, 2010. Its market value is estimated to be over Rs 20 crore. Rocky’s father also purchased an over 14,000 sq ft plot near
They also have other properties, like agricultural land, flat in Punaichak locality of Patna etc. Going by the affidavits alone, Rocky’s parents own property with an estimated market value of about Rs 150 crore. If sources are to be believed, benami property of a much higher value is also held by them. The story of how Bindi Yadav got the 3200 sq ft AP Colony house makes for a spine-chilling story, say residents of the area.

Asked about the property owned by Rocky’s ‘self-made’ parents, who were students till 1995 (Bindi Yadav got a BA degree in 1995 and Manorama got her MA degree in 1997 from Magadh University, infamous for its degree sale), Gaya SSP Garima Malik said this needed specialized investigation and she would refer it to the Economic Offences Unit of the state police.
