A senior Central Railway official was beaten up by four men in broad daylight outside CR’s Parel workshop on Tuesday.
The incident took place when G M Srinivasan, a senior personnel officer, was taking a stroll around 2pm off Dr B A Amdedkar Road. He was dragged in between two buildings and assaulted.
CR general manger S K Sood said, “The motive is not clear but we feel the accused were not railway employees.”
A case has been registered at Bhoiwada police station. “The assault may have been over vehicle parking on railway property.” Sood said, “Srinivasan may have stopped outsiders from parking vehicles.”
