On Wednesday, the Maharashtra government declared in a statement that the state has the Covid-19 second wave under control. Maharashtra has 61,306 active Covid-19 patients and the recovery rate is 96.87%, as of Wednesday.

Nandurbar district has no active Covid-19 patients, while 6 districts, including Dhule, Washim, Yawatmal, Bhandara, Wardha and Gondia, have less than 10 active patients. Hingoli, Parbhani, Nanded, Amravati, Akola, Buldhana, Chandrapur and Gadchiroli have less than 100 active patients, the data stated.

Even when the state is the worst hit in the country and its cumulative Covid-19 infection tally is the highest of all, Maharashtra Las logged less than 5000 infections in the last 3 days (as of Wednesday).

In comparison to other districts, Satara, Sangli, Ahmednagar, Pune, Osmanabad, Solapur and Sindhudurg districts have more patients.

As per the official data released on Wednesday, Pune, among the 8 regions in Maharashtra, reported the highest number of 2,551 new COVID-19 cases, followed by 861 cases from Kolhapur region. Nashik region reported 788 new cases, Mumbai 686, Latur 177, Aurangabad 35, Akola 20, and Nagpur region 14, the official said.
