Meghalaya: Curfew in Shillong, internet banned in several areas after Meghalaya CM’s house attacked

On Sunday, petrol bombs were thrown at Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma’s house. No one was hurt in the incident as the house was not being used. The CM stays at his official residence at higher Shillong area.

 

The violence broke out over the death of a former rebel leader, as a result of this incident two-days curfew was imposed in Shillong. Internet services have also been banned in several parts of the state.

 

A vehicle from Assam was also attacked in Shillong. Several incidents of stone throwing were also reported in the city. Assam special DGP, GP Singh bas urged people from the state not to travel to Shillong till curfew continues.
