Maharashtra government had issued guidelines for air traveling to curb the spread of the new variant ‘Omicron’ for which the State Health Minister Rajesh Tope has said that it has deferred the point which mandates a negative RT-PCR test 48 hours before entering Maharashtra for the ones traveling domestically.
This move has come after the Union Ministry asked the state to align its orders with the guidelines of the Union Government.
On Wednesday, the BMC had said in a circular that the Maharashtra government has made it mandatory for all international passengers arriving in Mumbai from the ‘risk countries’ to be institutionally quarantined.
