On Wednesday, Donald Trump announced what he called ‘the largest, fastest, and most advanced vaccine distribution effort in American history by far.’

The initiative by the Trump administration is a National Vaccine Distribution Plan that aims at Swifty delivering any eventual Covid-19 vaccine to Americans absolutely free of cost. 

The U.S. government said it will start the distribution of any eventual Covid-19 within one day of regulatory authorization. It also further stated the possibility of only a limited number of vaccine doses being available at the end of the year.

This plan is developed by the departments of Health and Human Services and Defense. The Associated Press reported that the federal health agencies and the Defense department sketched out plans for a vaccination sketched out plans for a vaccination campaign to begin gradually in January or later this year, eventually reaching any American who wants a shot, in a report to Congress and an accompanying “playbook” for states and localities. The document called the COVID-19 Vaccination Program Interim Playbook said that “limited COVID-19 vaccine doses may be available by early November 2020 if a COVID-19 vaccine is authorized or licensed by FDA by that time, but COVID-19 vaccine supply may increase substantially in 2021.”

The vaccines will be allocated to each state by the federal government based on the critical populations recommended first by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. That group is expected to include essential healthcare workers.
