US President Donald Trump mentioned the current tension between the 2 countries – India and China, over the national border in the press conference at the White House on Friday. President Trump said that he raised the issue with both the countries and said that the USA is ready to help.

“It has been very nasty,” states Trump over the border dispute. “If we can do anything, we would love to get involved and help, both of them.”

The Government of India called the tension, new attempts by Beijing to change the status quo in certain areas in eastern Ladakh. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh met his Chinese counterpart in Moscow late Friday. Before the meeting, Mr. Singh said,

“Peace and security in the region demanded trust, non-aggression, peaceful sorting of differences and respect for international rules.”

India has strengthened its own tank formations in the area and positioned extra forces to shore up the heights that it holds along the disputed Line of Actual Control (LAC) in the region and air activities have been on a hike too. President Trump has talked about helping to fix the problems between India and China quite a few times. When 20 soldiers gave their life for India, Trump quoted,

“We’re talking to India and China. They’ve got a bigger problem there.”

He also then accused China of escalating tensions at the borders with not just India but, a few neighboring countries too. He said China was taking advantage of the current situation in the world due to the Chinese-born Covid-19.
