Randeep Guleria, the director of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi has said that there is no requirement to take up booster shots for Covid-19 in India.

Guleria hailed the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive against Covid-19 and has also acknowledged how the country has come so far in vaccine manufacturing right from importing shots to now taking the lead to export the doses to other countries.

He said, “When H1N1 had hit India, vaccines were imported from foreign countries. From importing vaccines to manufacturing our own indigenous vaccine, we have come a long way. Today our Covid-19 vaccines are being exported to other countries.”
