Shikhar Dhawan has been announced as the Captain to lead India’s Sri Lanka squad for the One Day Internationals’ and T20s. India’s tour of Sri Lanka is starting off from 13th of July where the team will play 3 ODIs and 3 T20s. 

The second lead i.e. Vice Captain of the Sri Lanka squad is Bhuvneshwar Kumar. 

India’s squad of ‘limited-overs specialists’ is readying itself for a unique opportunity to engage themselves in a white-ball series against Sri Lanka while the majority of the senior players will parallelly be in the United Kingdom for the England Test series.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has reportedly asked Shikhar Dhawan and the rest of the players to assemble in Mumbai on June 14 to start the quarantine procedure. The players have been asked to undergo Covid-19 RT-PCR tests before they reach Mumbai hotel and enter BCCI’s bio-secure bubble. The players will then land in Sri Lanka on 28th of June.

For the Sri Lanka squad, IPL starts Devdutt Padikkal, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Nitish Rana, K Gowtham and Chetan Sakariya have all received maiden call-ups to the national team. 

The team will play 6 matches against Sri Lanka : three ODIs (on July 13, 16 and 18), followed by three T20Is (July 21, 23, 25). Rahul Dravid will be the head coach for the tour, as reported by ESPNcricinfo.
