Rajouri teacher get suspended for beating a student who wore tilak to school

In the Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir, it has been alleged by a Hindu family that their daughter was beaten up by the teacher for wearing a tilak to school. The teacher has been identified as Nisar Ahmed and she has been under suspension under the Deputy Commissioners’ order in the district. 

Hurting a child is a crime and the person can be punished under Section 323, 325, 352 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Moreover, Section 23 of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act 2000 says “whoever having charge of child assaults a child, he/she is punishable with imprisonment, which may extend to six months or a fine or both.”
