India has supplied 76,000 tonnes of fuel to Sri Lanka amid ongoing financial crisis

On Wednesday, 6 April, the High Commission of India in Colombo informed that India has supplied one consignment each of 36,000 MT petrol and 40,000 MT diesel to Sri Lanka in the past 24 hours.

The High Commission of India in Colombo, Sri Lanka said “The total supply of various types of fuel under Indian assistance now stands at more than 270,000 MT.”

On Saturday, last week, India sent 40,000 tonnes of diesel in a $1 billion credit line to Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka is going through a financial crisis wherein the goods supply like food, medicine and fuel have been highly impacted.
