On Wednesday, the ‘Pradhan Mantri Schools for Rising India’ (PM-SHRI) scheme was given a nod by the Union Cabinet. This scheme looks for upgrading 14,500 schools throughout India. A contribution of Rs.18,128 crore will be done by the Centre towards the scheme from which the expectation is that 1.8 million students will be benefitted from it.
