Home Minister  Amit Shah was on a two-day tour of West Bengal, where assembly election will be held early next year. The BJP is looking to unseat Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and defeat her party Trinamool Congress by deploying its “development” agenda and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s all out election-winning assault on the opposition.

Mr Shah during his visit to West Bengal on Friday said the Citizenship (Amendment) Act will be implemented across the nation once the coronavirus pandemic is firmly under control and ends.

“CAA implementation has been delayed due to the pandemic. It will ensure the security of the refugees,” he said. However, he refused to comment if it will be  implemented before the implemented before the Bengal Assembly polls.

On Article 356, which he mentioned as a Constitutional issue, Shah said, “There will be a big change of government in April 2021. So there is no need for Article 356. BJP will come to power with 200+ seats in Bengal.”

He urged people to give an opportunity to the BJP and they will transform Bengal into sonar bangla.

Talking about violence in Bengal, Shah said, “When people come out to vote, no one will be able to stop the change of power in Bengal.”

Shah said, “Bengal is strategically located because it is a bordering state. If borders are not secured, a state or country cannot be safe.”

Asked about the arrest of Al Qaeda terrorists from Bengal, Shah said, “The central government will treat the issue stringently when the security and safety of the country is concerned.”

He expressed confidence that NDA will come to power in Bihar and Nitish Kumar will take oath as the Chief Minister.

According to BJP sources, Shah, while speaking in the organizational meeting, asked the party workers to focus on telling the people about the success stories of the central government instead of resorting to only personal attacks on CM Banerjee.

He adviced party workers to forget everything and work for next five months.

According to party sources, booth committees will be formed comprising 40 members in each committee. Per booth, one such committee will be formed.
