Bombay High Courts’ Justice Bharati Dangre said that just a friendly relationship with a woman does not allow a man to take the woman for granted, interpreting her consent and establishing a physical relationship with her. A pre-arrest bail plea was filed by a man in a rape case which got rejected by the Justice.

The complainant is a 22-year-old woman who said that was only a bit familiar with the man. The bail was denied to the accused of forcing the woman through May 2019 and April 27, 2022, giving an assurance of marriage for which the High Court said the requests to get married were allegedly refused by the accused.

An FIR has been lodged against the accused under IPC section 376(2) (n) (commits rape repeatedly on the same woman) as well as section 376 (2) (h) (commits rape on a woman knowing her to be pregnant) and also for cheating.
