Winter started and has almost come to an end. December, the last month of the year, the coldest month of the year and the month that actually gives you ‘feels’!

There’s Christmas and there are gifts, there are Friends-Friday nights and there are Family Bonfires, it’s the end of the resolution you never completed and a hope for a more feasible resolution to complete! It’s a season to snuggle with thick blankets, watching the day turn into a night really fast and sipping that hot coffee in front of the screens that play soft – love music!

With the extreme cold weather and noses turning red with teeth chattering louder than ever, getting ready to set the mood relevant to the season -Staying Indoors is what we are aiming at today.

Here are things you can do this Winter to cheer up staying home!

Stay Cozy

Now this is obvious but just a reminder so that, you are ready with your blankets and soft toys and some more warm material like knitted sweaters and perfect fitting gloves with cute pairs of socks and a comfy cap! Well, if you are lucky to have your loved one beside you this season, resting your head on their shoulder is all you need to feel the warmth of Love.

Build a Fire

Even if you are not someone who stays in Antarctica or even Kashmir for that matter, where snow fall is a regular thing, getting a few coals and pouring some diesel over it and burning it with a matchstick will definitely set your mood for the evening. When you’re around the fire, you will even enjoy the soft, cold breeze stroking your hair!

Get a Hot Bath

Massage your body with some coconut oil to generate heat and then, with a Lavender scented and coloured bath bomb in the hand, step in the bath tub and comfort yourself in the steamy water with some foam and water toys to play with!

Read a Book

Books can never disappoint you. And what better than a Ruskin Bond book in your hand that tells you about the roads and roadside stories of Mussorie! Books help you imagine things and picturing a sunray falling on your face through a window will surely make you smile.

A Glass of Wine

A curvy wine glass with a Sula Vineyards RIESLING poured in it is a cherry on top for the season.  Every sip you take will warm the throat and then the chest reaching the stomach wanting you to take another sip in a cold weather.

Grill Some Meat and Veggies

The wine mood will be incomplete if there’s no meat and veggies to eat with it. Barbequed chicken with extra oil and some baby corn with bell peppers and spicy chilies smoked with balsamic vinegar…. Ummmm.. I can already taste the flavors in my mouth!

Light Some Scented Candles

The yellow light that the candles emit, show you a path through the dark nights of the winter and at the same time, keep you warm and relaxed and extremely comfortable. Chamomile or Lily or Jasmine scented ones will put you to instant and a peaceful sleep.

Try a Hand on Baking

Pies and Cookies are a must in winter. Chocolate, whether or not it keeps you warm, we all definitely enjoy eating it. Biting into a spongy cookie with a center full of gooey chocolate will roll your eyes into another world altogether. Well, if not bake, Order!

Move that Body!

Waking up in the morning, brushing your hands and keeping the warmed-up palm on your eyes and then opening them to see a beautiful morning is great. But, sweater and socks won’t keep you warm until you are heated up from the inside. And then, how do you do it? Move that Body Human! Just some Suryanamaskars and some Yoga or maybe some Zumba on some energetic music will surely help.

Unplug from the World

… and plug into some really great music. Something mild and calm and sufi and romantic and relax! Keep your mind blank for a while and then, shivers will be enjoyable too.

Lastly,

Instead of overcoming the cold, try and take pleasure in the season. See the steams that leave from your mouth and disappear in the cold outside. Touch the tip of your nose that has turned red and is colder than ice and compare that to that of a dogs’! Go for a walk and see the roads welcoming you with leaves all over them. Enjoy the Winter because this is the best season ever!
