In view of the rising fuel prices, the aggregator cab drivers are switching off the AC in the cabs despite the rising heat in Mumbai. There are incoming complaints from a few cities that the cab drivers are demanding more money to switch on the air conditioning.
In Mumbai, the drivers, along with their associations are claiming that if the AC is switched off, a mileage of 2-3 km per litre can be earned.
In the past six days, the prices of petrol and diesel have been hiked nearly by Rs. 4. The petrol prices on Sunday have risen up to 53 paise and diesel has gone up to 58 paise in Mumbai city. In Mumbai, the revised petrol prices are Rs.113.88 per litre of petrol and Rs.98.13 per litre for diesel. In Thane and Navi Mumbai, the petrol prices have been increased to Rs.114.02 and diesel has stood up to Rs.98.27.
