Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajit Pawar wrote a letter to PM Narendra Modi asking for mediation regarding issues faced by Marathi speaking people staying in the Maharashtra-Karnataka border.
In a letter, Ajit Pawar wrote, Marathi-speaking people continue to be treated unfairly by the Karnataka Government.
Ajit Pawar wrote in the letter, “It has been more than 60 years since the formation of Maharashtra states was formed, but, Belgaum, Karwar, Neppani, Bidar, Bhalki and many other areas in Karnataka are still not in Maharashtra.
Pawar appealed to Modi to take lead in stopping the Karnataka government’s ‘outrage’ on Marathi-speaking people and include the remaining areas in Maharashtra.
