On May 27, Adani Enterprises announced that a definitive agreement has been signed to purchase 50% stake in General Aeronautics Private Limited that gives commercial robotic drones as well as drone based solutions for protection of crops, crop health, precision farming as well as yield monitoring by making use of artificial intelligence and analytics for the sector of agriculture.

In an exchange filing, it said “The Adani Defence Systems and Technologies Limited shall leverage its military drone and AI/ML capabilities and work with General Aeronautics for providing end-to-end solutions for the domestic agricultural sector.”

This move has come at a point of time when PM Narendra Modi has invited investors across the world to invest in the country’s drone industry.

In New Delhi, while inaugurating The Bharat Drone Mahotsav, he said “I hope there will be more experiments in the usage of drones in the future. I am again inviting investors from the country and all over the world. I am also appealing to experts in the industry, to make drones more accessible to people. I want to appeal to youngsters that new drone startups should come up.”
