Reliance Jio Infocom on Friday announced the launch of in-flight mobile services in partnership with AeroMobile, a unit of US-based telecom service provider Panasonic Avionics Corporation.

The Postpaid Plus subscribers of Jio will be honored by being the first to use in-flight Voice and Data facility. The plan comes with a 24 hour validity starting at ₹ 499. Jio’s in-flight service will permit Indian travelers travelling overseas, to stay connected with voice and data services on a flight.
Cathay Pacific, Singapore Airlines, Emirates, Etihad Airways, Euro Wings, Lufthansa, Malindo Air, Biman Bangladesh Airlines, and Alitalia are said to be the Company’s Partner Airlines.

Thus, Jio has become the second Indian telecom company to offer in-flight service after Tata group firm’s Nelco. Nelco has been providing this service in Vistara airlines on London route.
