All Indian Bidders for Bullet Train tender – L&T, Tata and NCC among the 7

The Ministry of Railways said on Wednesday, 23 September, that National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) has opened methodological bids for one of the major tenders covering 47 per cent of Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail (MAHSR) placement and four stations.

The race for constructing the Mumbai-Ahemdabad High Speed Rail corridor, popularly known the Bullet Train has begun and seven large infrastructure companies, including Larsen and Toubro (L&T), IRCON International Ltd, Tata Projects, and Afcons Infrastructure Ltd are in the chase.

The total alignment includes four stations — plus Vapi, Billimora, Surat and Bharuch—and also includes a river and 30 road crossings. The complete section is in Gujarat, where more than 83 % of the territory has been obtained for the project. Three bidders involving seven infrastructure majors have participated in the competitive bidding. The company that has put a bid on its own is L&T.

The Ministry said that the technical bids for the plan and creation of 237 km length of main rail line for Mumbai- Ahmedabad High Speed Rail corridor were opened on 23 September.

The project is estimated to be completed by December, 2023 which starts from Bandra-Kurla Complex in Mumbai reaching till Ahemdabad.

The corridor, according to the current status, seems to be made for the Indians and by the Indians!
