Many netizens are demanding the arrest of the filmmaker which has sparked outrage as the poster of a documentary film named ‘Kaali’ has depicted Goddess Kaali smoking a cigarette. It has been alleged by the netizens that the poster of ‘Kaali’ is an insult to the Hindu Goddess; it has also hurt religious sentiments.
#ArrestLeenaManimekalai began trending on Twitter after Twitteratis demanded action against the filmmaker. In the poster, a woman is seen dressed in the costume of Goddes Kaali and is seen smoking a cigarette too. Moreover, she is also shown with the LGBTQ+ community’s pride flag.
Some of them have said on Twitter that it is blasphemous and is hurtful to religious sentiments, whereas some have appealed to Home Minister Amit Shah as well as the PMO to take action against the same.
