In the new rule, the relatives are permitted to send an amount up to Rs.10 lakh without disclosing it to the government. Earlier, the limit was Rs.1 lakh. The individuals will be given a period of three months instead of 30 days to let the government know if the sum is exceeded.
The new rules are titled Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Amendment rules, 2022, and were published in Gazette on Friday by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
In clause (e) of the sub-rule (2) of rule 0, the words “Fifteen days” have been replaced with “forty-five days” by the government. The MHA has now allowed 45 days to notify instead of the 15-day limit in case of change in the bank account, name, address, goals, or key members of the organization receiving the foreign cash.
