In a period of nearly four months, new Covid cases in the country rose the highest, standing near 80,000 fresh infections. However, compared to previous Covid outbreaks, the deaths stand very low.
From June 13-19, over 79,250 fresh cases were registered in India. It was during February 21-27 when more than 86,000 cases were recorded. After February, cases recorded during June 13-19 have been the highest. Over the past four weeks, cases are seeing a rise, but the past two weeks have seen a rapid surge.
On Sunday, active cases rose to more than 75,000. It was more than three months ago when the number of active cases was this high.
