The situation in the state is under control. Morning azaan was not played voluntarily by several mosques following the guidelines by the Supreme Court.

Pune Police Commissioner Amitabh Gupta said that 2500 security personnel were deployed so as to maintain the law and order. Moreover, MNS General Secretary Ajay Shinde has been detained by the Pune Police after the ‘Maha Aarti’ was performed in the Khalkar Hanuman Temple.

During the ongoing political row about the loudspeakers at mosques, on Sunday, MNS Chief Raj Thackeray announced that from May 4, Hanuman Chalisa will be played at double volume if the loudspeakers are not removed from the mosques.

In Aurangabad, while Raj Thackeray was addressing a gathering at Sanskrutik Mandal Maidan, he said “Today is the first day of Maharashtra. I would not listen from the fourth day from now. Wherever we will see a loudspeaker, we will also chant Hanuman Chalisa in front of the loudspeaker at double volume.”
