On Tuesday, in view of the fresh hike, the cost of petrol in the city increased up to 85 paise taking it to Rs.115.04 per litre. Simultaneously, the rate of diesel also shooted by 75 paise and it stands at Rs.99.25 per litre. During the past 8 days, the price of petrol and diesel have increased by Rs.5.
In neighbouring places like Thane and Navi Mumbai, petrol is being sold at Rs.115.18 per litre whereas diesel is being sold at Rs. 99.38 per litre.
The fuel price rise is a result of the increased prices of global oil. The main concern for India is the increased pieces of global crude oil. 85% of the oil demand is imported by India.
