On Saturday morning, there were hundreds of Shiv Sena workers gathered outside the Khar residence of MLA Ravi Rana and his MP wife Navneet Rana. The workers were protesting and were raising slogans against both of them.
Rana, even after the protests and slogans, said that he would go to Matoshree and would recite Hanuman Chalisa.
Rana released a video message from his Khar residence that said “These are not the Shiv Sainiks of Hinduhrudysamrat Balasaheb Thackeray. If they really were they would not stop a Marathi manoos like me from reciting Hanuman Chalisa. Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has asked them to break the law and break into my house and attack us. This is a breakdown of law. But we are going outside Matoshree to recite Hanuman Chalisa. Matoshree is a sacred place for Hindus and they can’t stop devotees from reciting Hanuman Chalisa there. I will recite the Hanuman Chalisa to ward off the bad omen that has struck Maharashtra ever since CM Thackeray took over.”
“We will recite the Hanuman Chalisa to pray for peace and prosperity of Maharashtra. The CM must not stop us if there is a rule of law in Maharashtra. We are going to Matoshree to recite Hanuman Chalisa,” he said in the video message.
Former Mayor Kishori Pednekar said “We will give a fitting reply if they come here. They will get Mahaprasad from Shiv Sainiks.”
