Key Points:
- A joint study made by the WHO and China have reported that Covid-19 PROBABLY is spread from bats to humans ‘via another animal’.
- WHO chief Tedros said that the organization received the full mission report this weekend.
- The report mentioned that an intermediate host between the bat and the humans must be the actual spreader – a RESERVOIR!
After a long research process of actually finding out where did the Pandemic-leader Coronavirus came from, a joint study made by the World Health Organization and the country China – the origin of the virus, have said that Covid-19 PROBABLY is spread from bats to humans ‘via another animal’.
Bloomberg, on Tuesday, according to a draft of the report of the team suggests that the most productive research would be to find such an animal link, saying the assumption of lab leaks was extremely unlikely.
World Health Organization director-general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreysus acknowledged receipt of the report from the independent experts but did not give any details, telling a Geneva news briefing: “All hypotheses are on the table and warrant complete and further studies.”
To investigate thin-skinned animal special more closely, the scientists suggested future studies take a wider geographical approach, including Southeast Asia.
The report mentioned that an intermediate host between the bat and the humans must be the actual spreader of the virus as bats and humans have a limited contact. Basically, a RESERVOIR or a HOST!
What is a RESERVOIR?
A reservoir is the main host that nurtured the virus without showing any symptoms of having it. But, the RESERVOIR can be the source through which another individuals can be affected. Also, in certain cases even multiplies the disease when in contact with humans.
“This intermediate animal host could be a domestic animal, a wild animal, or a domesticated wild animal and, as of yet, has not been identified,” the report said, adding that a number of investigations are currently underway or planned.
WHO chief Tedros said that the organization received the full mission report this weekend on the origins of the SARS-Cov-2 virus from the team that visited Wuhan earlier this year and this report was sent to member states under embargo (banned states).
Currently, almost 2.79 Million people have died so far from the coronavirus COVID-19 outbreak.
