Vijaya Gadde is the woman behind suspending Donald Trump’s Twitter account.  A 45-year-old immigrant from India and Twitter’s top lawyer, Vijaya Gadde, led the decision to permanently suspend US President Donald Trump’s Twitter accounts after the Capitol incident.

On Friday, January 8, tech giant Twitter ‘blocked’ USA’s former President Donald Trump’s Twitter handles for the first time, finally mounting its crackdown on the president’s social media posts that they believe encouraged and supported rioters at the US Capitol.

Ms. Vijaya Gadde, the company’s head of Legal, Policy and Trust and Safety issues, on Twitter said: “The account of @realDonaldTrump has been permanently suspended from Twitter due to the risk of further violence. Who is Vijaya Gadde?

  • Vijaya Gadde Gadde was born in India to a Telugu family and moved to the United States at age 3.
  • Her father pursued graduate studies in the United States and then her family moved to Beaumont, Texas.
  • The Gadde family then moved to the east coast, where Vijaya completed her high school in New Jersey.
  • Gadde received a BS in industrial and labor relations from the Cornell University School of Industrial and Labor Relations and her JD from New York University School of Law in 2000.
